I recently was given a gift of several glass breast cancer magnets – each so beautiful that I broke long standing rule of nothing on the refrigerator and placed them on it. It was given to me by a friend who has a high incidence rate of breast cancer among her close family members. When I look at the magnets it makes me think how much I wanted to touch others with a thoughtful gesture like this to remind them to get yearly mammograms, to support breast cancer awareness programs and events, and to support friends and family who have been touched by the disease.
